The Larger Woodhaven Story…

Before it became Woodhaven, it was part of the historic W.J. Boaz Ranch.
In the late 1960s, a group of investors purchased the land to create a master-planned, residential community centered around a private club and golf course. It opened in 1972 and even hosted the LPGA tour in its earliest years.
For decades, the clubhouse and course became part of Woodhaven’s memory — a place tied to recreation, gathering, and neighborhood culture.
Over time, Woodhaven began to face real challenges. By the 1990s and early 2000s, the neighborhood was experiencing disinvestment, deteriorating conditions, and a growing need for new public and private investment. In November 2007, the City of Fort Worth and participating taxing entities approved the Woodhaven Tax Increment Financing District, or TIF, as a tool to help attract reinvestment and fund public improvements in the neighborhood.
For years, smaller improvements were made, but the larger vision for Woodhaven remained unfulfilled and lacked market demand for new investment.
The former Woodhaven golf course and clubhouse, once a familiar gathering place for the neighborhood, also began to struggle. After years of increasing costs and changing conditions, the course eventually closed after Winter Storm Uri in 2021. Due to golf course’s bankruptcy, the land sat dormant with no clear path forward until Crescendo Development purchased the property out of foreclosure in 2025, and began working with the community and the City to explore a new master plan for the site.
Around the same time, the City of Fort Worth and the Woodhaven TIF Board launched the Woodhaven Conservation Plan — a community-informed planning process designed to identify neighborhood priorities, understand market realities, and map out the best eligible uses of TIF funds before the TIF district expires in December 2028.
Through workshops, surveys, meetings, and public input, nearly 400 residents helped shape a vision for Woodhaven’s future— one centered on gathering spaces, green space, recreation, housing options, neighborhood-serving amenities, safety, and catalytic reinvestment.
Crescendo’s golf course redevelopment process continued that conversation where more than 300 residents gave feedback on the future of the course. Residents voiced support for uses such as restoring the clubhouse, open space, trails, trees, restaurants, farmers markets, senior living, clean ponds, and neighborhood-serving amenities. Crescendo also tailored zoning and planning in response to community feedback, including preserving and activating the clubhouse, protecting green space, adding agricultural zoning, and creating transitions near existing homes.
This feedback, the community engagement, and the zoning update unlocked the site and signaled to the market that Woodhaven was ready for new opportunities.

Seeing the community’s vision, planning work, and momentum, Blue Ridge Cascade became interested in bringing its development expertise, investment capacity, and long-term ownership approach to help move the vision from conversation to implementation. BRC wanted to build something that Woodhaven would be proud of. This is the Woodhaven Together vision.

Now, Blue Ridge Cascade is excited to partner with Woodhaven to shape the project’s signature aspects — including amenities, green space, naming, programming, community gathering areas, and the features that will make this place feel like Woodhaven.
